We remember.
Herman was a soft spoken, gentle soul who loved dragon boating with the Dark Water Dragons on Slocan Lake. Always steady, helpful and kind, his memory will be in our hearts.

Herman contributed much to the Dark Water Dragons, leaving an indelible imprint. He touched us with constant cheer and straight steering. He embodied the traits of authenticity, generosity, humility, clarity, dedication and reliability.
On his bike or by car, he drove from Kaslo every Sunday before the rest of the team was awake, so he and Shelley could prepare the boat for our paddle. He helped launch the boat each spring, put her away in the fall, and painted her in 2020 when COVID kept us from paddling. Herman was a wonderful addition to our team. We remember him fondly and his spirit will join us on every paddle.
