I don’t know but I’ve been told,

Slocan Lake could be so cold.

Sunday mornings on the lake,

watch us paddle, see our wake.

Paddle click click is a drill,

so have a listen if you will.

Coaches beating on the drum,

paddle paddle let it run.

We do pods and zig-zag too,

we are such an awesome crew.

Gerry, Judy and Irene

make us work but they’re not mean.

We all like the stunning views,

helps to wash away the blues.

Even with the smokey haze

we love paddling most Sundays.

Irene sometimes makes us work,

but we love her, she’s not a jerk!

Paddle pause is tough to do,

but we’re smart, can’t fool this crew.

We like to talk when we let it run,

on the lake in the blazing sun.

1, 3, 5 & 7 are odd,

time to smile and merely nod.

Kay works hard on our behalf,

so we can paddle and have a laugh.

Shelly and Gina are in the rear,

they are important cause they both steer.

Our friend Herman may be gone,

but his spirit drives us on.

Practice over now we’re done,

dragon boating is so much fun!

Let it run, Let it run, Let it run, Let it run, Let it run (getting quieter ….)
